RBC Product Development employs integration, verification, validation, and manufacturing testing at carefully planned times during the project to test your product.
The following test "classes" constitute a comprehensive test suite for your product and provide you with assurance that the product functions as designed:
- Integration Testing – We perform integration testing as the individual functional components of your product are being brought together. The focus is on the interfaces, ensuring that design implementations join seamlessly, and that parts are functioning well together. This is when the benefits of up-front requirements and design definition and review are first realized.
- Verification – We conduct verification testing throughout the implementation process. Verification can take the form of low-level unit testing all the way up to verifying correct implementation of functional requirements.
The focus is to ensure that the design and implementation do what the requirements state they will do. Formal verification tests are executed after implementation has been completed; however, many dry-runs are performed as the pieces of your product are being constructed to ensure quick and smooth integration of the components and to ensure that design and implementation issues are caught sooner rather than later in the process.
- Validation – We perform validation testing during and after verification testing. The focus is to ensure that the product functions as it should for its intended use. Formal validation takes place at the end of the development effort after verification; however, dry-runs are performed throughout verification.
Another validation of the manufacturing process also occurs after the product is ready for production to ensure that the manufacturing processes are functioning as they should to catch and correct production issues.
- Manufacturing - Manufacturing testing encompasses a wide range of tests, including in-circuit tests, automated or manual production tests, sampling tests, and other tests that ensure the product is being built to specification.
We work throughout the manufacturing process developing test procedures, fixtures, and equipment to complement the design and guarantee that your product meets your Customers' needs the first time they open a box with your name on it.
